Compact SUVs seems to be the rage of the moment. Everyone seems to own them, or if they don’t they want one. And riding high on the waves of success, the all-new 2016 Suzuki Vitara seems to have been launched. The line had been launched back in 1998 and with constant renovations and competitive prices; this one has stayed at the forefront of highly popular SUVs all throughout.
2016 Suzuki Vitara: New Features and Infotainment
Given the fact that the car has been in the market for nearly 2 decades now, one would think that Suzuki had finally run out of innovation ideas, but apparently not. The new version of the car seems to have some really cool features added in, not to mention the interesting customisations that you can opt for. The car comes in 2 variants. While the entry level RT-S is available in front wheels drive only, you can always opt for the upgraded all-wheel drive RT-X model as well. On the interior, the 2016 Vitara will feature premium leather seats as well in order to justify the increase in price. There are a few other interesting additions as well, like the sunroof.
This is going to be the highlight of the new version. Suzuki feels that in order to give each customer exactly what he needs, there should be options to cater to every possible need. For example, you can not only get the usual paint versions, there are as much as 6 different paint versions available for the new car. Out of these, if you are really feeling to get something different, 3 feature a contrasting black roof. These do not come cheap though. Expect a price tag of $995 for each. However, if you really want all eyes on the road on you, this is definitely the option for you. Besides this, you can also opt for a chrome finish bumper on both the front and the back along with the doors. If you lean towards black, you are in luck as there is a set which caters to black alloy wheels, bonnet vents and the grille. The highlight, however, is the swappable interior panels to ensure that you have just the color combination to match your mood for the day. Of course, leather trims, power windows, single button start, 7 inch infotainment panel, Bluetooth connectivity, Mirrorlink, etc. Name it and it is likely that the car has it.
2016 Suzuki Vitara: Engine Specs
The 2016 Suzuki Vitara is an on-road crossover, which means that you will get very good mileages as long as you stick to city roads. Built in with a 1.6l 4-cylinder petrol engine, this car has an output of 86kW at 6000 rpm and 156 Nm at 4400 rpm. While critics can argue that this is not really the most powerful set we have seen on the roads, considering that the base version of the car weighs a little over 1000kg, the engine is more than capable to handle everything you can throw at the car.
Price and Arrival
Available at $22,990 to $24,990 depending on the 2016 Suzuki Vitara model you opt for, this SUV will most likely retail by the end of this year.
