With the changing times, the 2018 Chevy Bolt is all set to roll into the upcoming market. It is going to be an all-electric vehicle which makes the wait, till the launch of this vehicle, even more exciting. 2018 Chevy Bolt: Performance
The 2018 Chevy Bolt is an all-electric subcompact crossover. It will have GM’s new Gamma platform called G2SC. Along with this platform, the vehicle will come in a classic FWD (front-wheel drive) layout. GM’s new configuration will provide the car with a 60 kWh battery pack. Front wheels will receive the power.
This subcompact crossover will be able to produce 200 HP of power and torque of 366 lb-ft of torque. Not only the range of this vehicle will be over 200 miles, but it will be able to go from 0 – 60 mph in less than 7 seconds.
New Features and Styling Changes
The exterior features are tackled with a more traditional approach. Some of the features include taller and rounder shape, futuristic headlights, raked window line, more aggressive front fascia and low profile tires which are wrapped around plus sized wheels. Overall, the 2018 Bolt is sharp and crisp with thoroughly exciting features.
Though the manufacturer of 2018 Chevy Bolt hasn’t made any specific announcements, if the rumors are true to be believed, then GM is working on something exciting. It will have the latest infotainment services like personalized pairing and settings for up to 10 devices, Wi-Fi connectivity for up to seven devices, EV-specific routing for navigation and MyChevrolet App will help to check the car status like – estimated range, charge wheel etc. All these will be run by GM’s OnStar system.
The 2018 Chevy Bolt gets a more traditional approach in its cabin. Some of the features include advanced touchscreen display, futuristic layout and additional storage.
In the rear seat, buyers will get comfortable seating for three. Central tunnel gets a legitimate shifter. This new vehicle has little concern for rooflines. Being a true hatchback, occupants can fold the rear seats down, a 60/40 split, which will provide over fifty-five cubic feet of cargo space. When the seats are up, occupants will get seventeen cubic feet of space in the back. And all this is in addition to its 94.4 cubic feet of passenger volume. This vehicle will offer to seat for five adults in total.
Price and Arrival
The 2018 Chevy Bolt is likely to make its first public appearance sometime in 2017. The base price is going to be around $30,000. Though BMW i3s, next-gen Nissan Leaf and the forthcoming Tesla Model 3 are supposed to provide stiff competition, there is no doubt that this new subcompact crossover will beat everyone.
