The new 2018 Jeep Compass is getting ready to hit worldwide markets. Extensive testing of their brand new compact SUV crossover is taking place at several locations. This American based Chrysler group is going to replace their Patriot and Compass SUVs with this new model. This vehicle is going to be a cross between SUV and hatchback.
Through this new paradigm, Jeep is going to expand the automaker’s offerings to its reputed customers. Hopefully, Jeep devotees are going to love this revelation. Car fanatics will get to see this new model in January at 2017 Detroit Auto Show.
2018 Jeep Compass: Platform and Specs
The latest offering from Jeep is based on their 2016 version of Renegade. It makes for a subcompact SUV. It will provide heated steering, dual detachable roof panels and much more to 2018 version of Compact.
Camouflaged photographs and spy testing are saying a lot about the external structure of 2018 Jeep Compass. The front fascia is highly inspired by none other than Grand Cherokee. Grilles are rectangular in shape with aggressive cuts. Side profile heavily resembles the beast. But tail lights, unlike Cherokee, do not touch rear ends. Longer rear hang, broader wheels will add a defining look to this new Jeep carriage.
Under The Hood
When it comes to drivetrain, you can think of I-1 TigerShark 2.4 liters engine. This powertrain will be available to all of its standard models. For high-end variants, I-4 2 liters Hurricane engine option will also be available.
When it comes to a transmission system, a 9-speed auto option, and front-wheel drive are going to be the only choices that Jeep will offer. However, as per internal sources, high-end trims can get an all-wheel drive system as optional.
Interior and Trims
Inside the SUV, you can expect things to be simple, sober yet classy. Soft materials for upholstery will make journeys extremely comfortable. The dashboard of the car will be incorporated with high-tech facilities. Some of them worth mentioning include:
- Rear view parking camera which will provide 360-degree view
- Undemanding cruise control
- Climate control system to monitor adverse weather conditions
- Tilted steering wheel for that added comfortable drive
Of now, the only news that has surfaced is that 2018 Compass will only get an off-road trim called Trail Hawk. However, this may or may not be the case. Let’s wait and watch for the official release of the same!
Arrival and Price Range
It is expected that 2018 Jeep Compass will be available by early 2018. The base price of this latest model is going to be priced somewhere near $20,000. However, its top versions might shoot up to $24,490.
