This facelift will be done in order to keep up with the new and latest technologies that are flooding the more recent cars.
2018 Jeep Renegade: Engine and Transmission Upgrade
One of the most attractive news with a 2018 facelift version of the Renegade is that it will be coming with an upgrade added to its transmission system. Its drive system will be supporting a four wheel drive system which has got a lot of stuff in it. The transmission will offer four types of drive options. These include – Active Drive I and Active Drive Low. These will come with Jeep Selec Terrain System. Smart drive modes allow this 4×4 to be driven in mud, snow, rock, and sand. There is also an auto mode available.
This latest version of the 2018 Renegade will be coming with two options of engines to choose from. Both these engines are quite good, and any of them can easily be chosen. Have a look:
- The first option is a 1.4L engine with close to 160 HP
- Second choice is that of a 2.4L unit with close to 200 HP and 244 Nm of torque.
The upgraded transmission will be coming with a six speed gearbox having manual shifts. This 4×4 can deliver close to 30 miles to the gallon on an average.
Changes and Trims
2018 Jeep Renegade will undergo few minor tweaks here and there. Aerodynamic changes are a first among all sorts of changes applied. This has been specifically done in order to reduce drag force. Ground clearance has been retained and ride quality is pretty awesome. The chassis is quite durable and can deliver a decent amount of performance, both on and off the road. More information is still on the way and there will be more speculations no doubt since this is a 2018 model. So stay tuned for updates and info.
The manufacturers are bringing out the latest 2018 Renegade in four different trim levels: Trailhawk, Sport, Limited and Latitude. The Trailhawk is the best option to go for if going off the road is a priority. Thus, each trim has its own set of benefits and users can make their choices according to their requirements.
Good cars come with good competition. The SUV is expected to be heavily contested by the likes of Nissan Juke, Chevy Trax and Buick Encore in the market. All four of these SUVs are going to fight out a close game.
