The 2018 Land Rover Defender is expected to break all the barriers not only in making its mark but in ditching its legacy. With ignoring its ancestors’ corrugated cardboard styling – the car is set to embark on a new journey of class. This is a must have SUV for any enthusiastic as it has got a lot to offer!
2018 Land Rover Defender: Design and Features
Just like the design of DC100 which promoted laughter from many people, the same base design will be used for the new 2018 Land Rover Defender. At this point in time, it is not clear whether the company will use aluminum intensive uni-body but according to the experts, it is more than certain. By adopting this new design, the company will be able to incorporate comfort and sophistication in the car with more ease than they were able to do it in previous versions of the car. The front end of the car looks more like the Discovery. The aerodynamics of the car has been vastly improved by the use of refined grill which has hasten the cooling system of the engine which eventually has led to an improvement in the air intake of the car. The front end features a hasty retreat that has been inspired from the old generation. For the headlights, the company will make use of LED and will follow a nice trend of setting up taillights and indicators with utmost creativity and elegance. Coming to the fender and the grille, they have been updated with a fresh design and have been given a wraparound shape which will reveal the car’s shrugged nature while keeping in line the “sportier” look.
Coming to the inside of the car, it will have a lot in common from the 2017 DC100 and will have the same brightly colored seats. The car will come with leather trims on its seats. All of the new 2018 Defender will come with breathable mesh that will be covered in bold Tribal tech pattern. The design will also feature brightly colored mats along with the interior upholstery which would be based on Ombrae, which has now become a predominant medium in art installation.
2018 Land Rover Defender: Engines and MPG
The all-new 2018 Land Rover Defender is coming with a huge variety of engines to choose from. A consumer will have the luxury to choose between three set of engines with the first one being a supercharged 5.0 L V8 engine or a 3.0 V6 engine. The second option is the 2.0 L and 2.4 L I-4 engine united that have been developed for the Jaguar XE. All of these engines have been made in line to the policies of EPA regulations and EU emissions. As far as the mileage of the car is concerned, it is expected that the car will be quite better than the previous versions and will be able to deliver 35 MPG/ liter.
Price and Release Date
Nothing can be said about the price as it has been kept highly confidential by the company and so is the case with the release date but based on its production and work plan, the car is expected to be launched in the second quarter of 2017.
