Currently, the news of the upcoming 2018 Toyota RAV4 is circulating in the market, but no is sure when this crossover will show up in the market. Like its predecessor, the new RAV4 will carry many modifications in exterior, interior and engine. There is a possibility that Honda might offer some more engine variant for its customer which could be a plug-in hybrid or hybrid power train.

According to some sources, RAV4 will appear with an upgraded towing capacity along with the high tensile towing hook. Powertrain Details and Rivals
The 2018 Toyota RAV4 is expected to get two engines variant and they are:
- 3.0 liter inline-4 drivetrain that produces 235 HP and 258 lb-ft.
- 2.5-liter engine that can generate 180 HP and 172 lb-ft and this engine will be only available in Asia and Europe.
Both these engines will be padded with an eight-speed automatic transmission system along with an upgraded exhaust system and a new intercooler. The EPA rating detail is still unknown, but some sources have confirmed that mileage would increase by 15 percent.
The competition in the mid-size market is fierce because every automobile has one model that falls in this sector. So, the 2018 Toyota RAV4 will face many opponents and they are: Honda CR-V, Ford Escape, Mazda CX-5, Jeep Cherokee, GMC Terrain, Nissan Rogue, Kia Sportage and Subaru Forester.
Price and Availability
The carmaker has refrained themselves from releasing any detail of the 2018 Toyota RAV4 but according to experts, the starting price would stay around $30,000. The vehicle will hit the production stage by the first quarter of 2017, and it will come by the end of that year.
